The San Diego County unemployment rate was 8% in February, down from a revised 8.6% in January. The county gained 9,800 nonfarm jobs between January and February, and 31,400 jobs from February 2012 to February 2013, according to the Employment Development Department. The big gainers in the last month were leisure and hospitality jobs, up 3,300. Year-over-year, the big gainers were professional and professional services jobs, up 5,800. On March 22, January data were released late because of statistical changes at the U.S. Labor Department.
