With the baseball season half over, there are four National League teams with awful records. Their records are separated by a fraction of a hair: Padres .391, Colorado .388, Chicago Cubs .388 and Houston Astros .384. But according to World Features Syndicate, oddsmakers say Houston, Colorado, and Chicago have 500-1 odds of winning the World Series, and the Padres are 400-1. There must be something Las Vegas knows that we don't know. Of course, the Padres's odds were 80-1 when the season started, while Houston was 400-1. Oh yes: most favored are the Yankees (4-1) and the Texas Rangers (9-2).
