Liquid Geometry's Save the State Parks Benefit

“We grew up in East County, so we were always chillin’ in Mission Trails,” says Theo Adams of the Liquid Geometry electronic music collective.

“Parks are a special place for us and we think for a lot of other people, too. So we want to give back, even if it’s only a little bit.”

As 70 of California’s 278 state parks (the largest state park system in the country) face closure, proceeds from the first of Liquid Geometry’s monthly benefit shows will go to the California State Parks Foundation, a 130,000 member strong organization that has raised over $186 million for the Golden State’s parks since it was founded in 1969.

Tonight’s benefit at the Kava Lounge features succulent waveforms from Mateo, Vegan Flytrap (Illuminauts), HM.T DM.T, Zochi, and Browse.

“The benefit idea was originally for the Che Café, but they made more than enough with their benefit weekend,” says funny-side-up Liquid Geometry beater HM.T DM.T (that’s “Humpty Dumpty").

“We still want to give back to local music.”

Adams says future benefits may also go towards starting a “Liquid G” organic garden.

“We always chill out in nature,” says Dumpty. “It’s pretty important to us.”
