Escondido Dispatch received a call of a fight that had broken out at the intersection of Mission and Midway. Officers arrived at 11:05 p.m. and discovered an individual lying in the street at Mission and Maywood, three blocks from the reported fight.
The body was later identified at 17-year-old Geraldo Daniels Medina. He had been stabbed numerous times.
He was pronounced dead at the scene.
