Rain, Rain, Go Away...
You just answered the real question....what site can you trust? It's definitely noy Wikipedia...— December 9, 2009 9:18 a.m.
The Biggest Loser Blog
I've said it before, I hate reality shows and I don't watch any of them. I think KarenBP is on this same ship....anyway, what I can't stand about the premise of "The Biggest Loser" is the fact that these people are so f--king fat to begin with, it just makes me sick. Obviously there are many reasons why people get to those proportions, and wanting to do something about it is admirable, but we aren't born fat....it takes years to get fat....and people then want to fix it overnight. Sounds like the American motto to me.... I read that same article about Michelle Duggar. True, she had gallstones, but did you read further that she is prego with #19?? TLC plans on changing the title of the show too to accommodate the latest addition... I always felt that Nike left something off the "Just Do It" campaign...like maybe they should have put "Just Did It" on the back of the t-shirts...— December 9, 2009 12:21 a.m.
Rain, Rain, Go Away...
PistolPete, the sports reporters in SD have to write about SOMETHING, so while the Bolts are 9-3, they are thinking of lofty aspirations because let's face it...it's December in San Diego. Baseball is over, no NBA or NHL teams reside in SD, so what's left? The NFL. And stop using Wikipedia as a source...it's unreliable b/c it's an open source...anyone can post to it...Any academic will tell you that. But then again, your beliefs are your beliefs...and I'm good with that... :-) Clunkers for Cash...don't get me started...— December 9, 2009 12:12 a.m.
Rain, Rain, Go Away...
A raincoat for the dog? Wow....I'll be nice and leave it at that..PistolPete is partially right...SD'ers have no idea how to drive in the rain. The sports part?? That's debatable...what I really hate about SUV's is that people have an aura of invincibility in them. Not sure if I spelled that right, but you know what I mean. People who own SUV's, for the most part, feel high and mighty as they sit in traffic or drive through bad weather. It's the mentality of my vehicle is bigger than yours...so piss off...I hate people in SUV's.... Agree with refried...global warming is real...curious now on what we'll do about it....— December 8, 2009 2:54 a.m.
Liver and Mushrooms
So, I like mushrooms, but I'm not stupid enough to go and pick my own and then try them out. If not in my local market, then they're not eaten. Isn't that a simple enough strategy? Living here in Brussels, that guy did make a pretty big splash in the papers here. But somehow, I don't think there is going to be a lawsuit. Given the fact the the technology was just either not available, or not trusted at the time. Plus, you have to remember that the healthcare here in Belgium is socialized. I seriously doubt he had much to pay for in the way of care during his 23 year torturous ordeal. He will write the book....I'm sure it wlll sell lots of copies. Personally, I think it's amazing he still has the mental capacity to not have gone insane.— December 6, 2009 6:25 a.m.
Work Outs, Gumballs, and Game Nazis
Sorry KarenBP, "Jewcy" IS funny!! :-) I think the hardest part about going to the gym is getting motivated to go! With me, I go home from work, then I have to immediately change into workout clothes or I lose motivation to go. On the contrary, the gym is situated on one of the largest university campuses in Brussels...which means the eye candy is usually pretty good...— December 4, 2009 2:53 a.m.
Work Outs, Gumballs, and Game Nazis
It's kinda funny, but I joined a gym here in Brussels and I have yet to see a stair climbing machine? And this is a BIG gym....especially for Europeans...but I agree with you about paying for something you can do for free, like climbing stairs. Now, as you may know, I run a lot. But 6 months of the year here, its dreary, wet, and cold. Therefore, in order to run during the winter, I run indoors on a treadmill. Which, anything more than 10km (6.2 miles) is quite monotonous....so that's my limit, 10km. The other time of the year, I am outdoors running in the city. I've never played 'Scattergories', but agree with some of your logic. Your group should try 'Balderdash'. Similar concept where you get a category, like an odd word, then you or your team has to make up a definition for that word, write it down, then put it in a bowl. The reader of the question, which rotates in turn, is ineligible for points as they read. That person then reads aloud each answer to the group, and then each person/team must decide which answer is correct. The reader also submits the real answer with the fake ones. You earn points if other people vote your answer as being correct, and you can even vote for yourself in an attempt to prompt others to vote for yours....Try it...there is no debating, but the answers people make up are usually quite hilarious.... :-)— December 4, 2009 12:56 a.m.
Kick a Kid
at Rickey, Josh can confirm with you that I was no bully....far from it, I would think. I was a skinny kid, never weighed more than a buck fifty through high school, standing 6 ft tall. I have a great memory as well, but I guess either I didn't get involved in those kinds of things, or just tried as much as possible to avoid them? I wasn't a recluse, nor was I Mr. Popular....more somewhere in the middle. Also, whenever I am at the poker table, I always recognize the sucker....even if its me.... :-)— December 2, 2009 12:31 a.m.
Kick a Kid
I don't know why, but I don't remember any of the "bullies" from Jr High....especially I know we went to the same one b/c it was the only one around at the time! Why did I have such a different experience than you did is what I really want to know! :-) But I agree with you points. Kids seem to get meaner as you progress through school. With this thing about kicking other students, that's just stupid. What the hell were these kids thinking? Or better yet, were they thinking?— December 1, 2009 1:08 p.m.
Who You Callin' Chicken?
Tattoo's aren't bad...someone told me that they're addicting...but since I have one, I don't want to get another...so I don't understand my friends logic! :-) Josh, like many of your loyal readers, turned 40 this year...I'm sure the last thing you want someone telling you is how old you are...right? "Old Bitch"...nice...had me rolling...!— November 30, 2009 2:27 a.m.
