Love mayor Filner's meetings with 'the people' at City Hall on the first Saturday of every month from 9:30 a.m. to noon!
San Diego lucked out when Filner got elected, much to the dismay of many of the Ultra Wealthy that have had it far too easy far too long...
What a breath of fresh air the new mayor is! Finally! A mayor that is actually interested in workers getting a fair wage. And I love the way he is standing up to the hotel cartel and the city council prez, letting them know it is not going to be business as usual. Hoooray! We may finally have elected a mayor who sees his job as doing what is best for the city and its residents, instead of throwing bones to the big dogs. Can't wait to see what he does next.
I like his confrontational syle of dealing with the City Council and Jan Goldsmith. It's refreshing to see him fight the big wig money men and stand up for the city. San Diego consists of more than the Gaslamp and waterfront areas and these other neighborhoods need attention and redevelopement as well.
