Not Mexican, tempting though it must be to categorize all brown people as such.

Seriously, I'm Brazilian and calling me Mexican is like calling all white people crackhead Pollocks... I doubt the "free" Reader can really be blamed for getting this wrong. I doubt any of their chain-smoking staff ever tries anywhere that doesn't have syrup botles on the table when you arrive...

Hey alna1287, go back to the swamp from whence you coagulated. Thanks.

OMG! How totally embarrassing! This is the total opposite of what we want to be. As the ship Captain (James Cagney) yelled over the loudspeaker in classic film "Mister Roberts" after discovering a prank at his expense -- WHO DID IT? WHOOO DID IT? Well, I found out who -- a temp, no longer among our staff, who was hired to enter this sort of data during the crunch when the new improved website was going up. I've asked our systems people to correct this listing, presto-ASAP-STAT. We (the actual foodies on staff) DO know the difference between Mexican and Brazilian. For that matter, between Bahian (coconut milk, dende oil, fish & seafood, African influences) and Rio (feijoada completa) and churrasqueria-stye, although I've forgotten the Portuguese word for "cowboy country." Anyway -- profound, abject apologies, speedpanda. And good for you for catching this bonehead error. -- Naomi Wise, Food Editor
