Englishman-turned-Californian Simon Lacey has made it a mission to bring beers indicative of his UK homeland to San Diego, and he’s come through with flying colors. His ESB, whether served straight or on cask, is reminiscent of time spent across the Pond. A pair of hand-pumps in the tasting room helps convey his beer’s positive points, while views of the abutting brewhouse give insight into where they were born. Recently, Lacey introduced an IPA and stout, both imperial, to up the range of his offerings.
