At any hour the food is Hawaiian “plate lunch” — two scoops of short-grain rice, mild house-made macaroni salad, and a choice of authentic “grines.” Don’t miss the outstanding kalua pig — zesty, smoky shreds of imu-style roast pork. Inexpensive.
Prices: Loco moco (two ground-beef patties, grilled onions, gravy, two eggs sunny-side up, two scoops rice, one scoop macaroni salad , $7.75 (mini size, $6.25); chicken katsu (deep-fried breaded chicken, katsu sauce, $6.99, $5.50 mini size); kalua pig sandwich, $4.50; daily specials, e.g., pork adobo (Tuesday) with rice, mac salad, $6.50
Hours: 11am–6pm, Monday, Wednesday; 11am–8pm, Tuesday, Thursday; 8am–8pm, Friday, Saturday; closed Sunday
Buses: 101, 304, 309, 374, Flex, Coaster

This place used to be fun. Now the waitresses are cranky like they're from a NY Deli. Food is ok.

I cringe at the thought that visitors come to eat Hawaiian food and walk away with disappointed impressions of what the Hawaiian culture and cuisine has to offer. This menu is not a representation of Hawaiian food! The fast food quality of its menu/counter help does the Hawaiian culture a disservice.
By the way, if you are a local who likes to eat there regularly I only wish you could come over for dinner instead and know Hawaiian hospitality . Aloha!
