Saw one of Frankie’s ads, so passing by, caught the sign and stopped for lunches to go. Choose BBQ Chicken sandwiches and came away happy campers. A sign on the wall reads “no teeth needed”. The meat was cooked-up nice and tender. The roll was way overfilled and pefectly topped with onion rings. The orders came with seasoned fries plus a unique, really good coleslaw. Everything was generous enough for two meals, plus a little for the doggie to have a taste, too. Spoke with one of the very friendly owners, native San Diego Italians – the kind that know and care about excellent food. They offer cozy inside dining and an outside patio. The menu is packed with plenty of choices that include an ultimate “wall of fame” trough. There are almost a dozen national and local brews on tap. Completing the experience are full rolls of paper towels for wiping-up at each table. And oh yeah, Jack Sparrow ate here!
