Pickleball in the Park: Have you heard of pickleball? I learned on the City of La Mesa website that it's a game played with a perforated ball and paddle on a court where the net is lowered to 34 inches at the center. People play Wednesday and Friday mornings at the tennis courts at Collier Park, 4401 Palm Ave. If you play, please post on this Holler page. Remember you get a free-t-shirt when you do!
Pickleball was created in the 1960s and is supposedly named for the dog of one of the creators. Another creator's family maintained the dog was named for the game. Regardless, the City website said pickleball is easy to learn, entertaining, and a great workout. For more information or to join a group, call: 619-667-1333 or email: email@example.com.
