As some of you seasoned San Diegan's know the Chicken Pie Shop has a history. I remember it back in the 50s when I was a kid in Hillcrest. I used to go there back in the wild 70s and it was wonderful, atmosphere, wonderful food and of course the best thing is that they create there own chicken pies that remain great to this day. Not what it used to be when back in Hillcrest. The current location reminds me of a mess hall in the Army or Navy, same type of atmosphere. The canned veggies suck frankly. The service is friendly and they keep on top of things. We still go there on occasion. Low cost pricing. Try their chicken pie and I think you will give it a thumbs up.
