Charles the golden retriever at Dogs' Beach, at the west end of Voltaire Street, Ocean Beach. He's standing in front of the Tim Reamer designed sculpture depicting a row of surfboards with a paw print denting it. The sculpture was commissioned as part of a 2003 $21,000 capital improvement project. The beach has been designated an off-leash area since 1972.
