As I Lay Dying in jail
Ken Leighton 7:59 a.m., May 22

Life-size sculpture of a coyote at the amphitheater in Mission Trails Regional Park, 1 Fr. Junipero Serra Trail, off Mission Gorge Road. It is one of a half dozen animal sculptures created by El Cajon artist Robert Berry. The park, which preserves 5760 acres as they were before Cabrillo arrived in 1542, is called the city's "third jewel," after Balboa Park and Mission Bay.
