January 27, 1944 - December 31, 2016

John Burr Friedlund passed peacefully on December 31, 2016 in San Diego, CA at the age of 72. He was born on January 27, 1944 in Minneapolis, MN. John lived a very full life and will be best remembered for the following: Graduating with a Journalism degree from the University of Colorado where he was a member of the Chi Psi fraternity. John was also a fighter pilot and flight instructor in the United States Navy flying A4 and F8 planes. After the Navy, John was a longtime Financial Adviser with Paine Webber, UBS, and Morgan Stanley. John also had many hobbies. He was an avid golfer, skier, tennis player, guitar and piano player, traveler, and singer in the St. Bartholomew's Church Choir. John was a true lover of life and will be greatly missed by his family and friends. Services will be held at St. Bartholomew's Church. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made on his behalf to the San Diego Humane Society at sdhumane.org. John is survived by his wife Amy S. Friedlund, two daughters Jessica A. Seifert (Tim D. Seifert) and Tiffany M. Friedlund (Andrew J. Pidduck), and four grandchildren Aiden and Sabrina Seifert, Brooke and Ashley Pidduck.
