Country up-and-comer Chris Lane comes back to town
Taking a detour from bro country, Lane added a pop/R&B vibe to his show.
It was the second time at bat in San Diego for the UNC-Charlotte baseball player who traded his glove for a guitar. Country artist Chris Lane opened for Dustin Lynch at San Diego House of Blues as part of a 35-city tour. And judging by the reaction of the sold-out crowd, his performance was a home run.

Chris Lane opened the set with his debut single that got traction on country radio in 2014 — "Broken Windshield View." The band played a rockin’ medley of covers from Journey, NSYNC, Miley Cyrus, Bruno Mars and others; as well as songs from the new EP, Fix, which was produced by Joey Moi (who also produces country mega-stars Florida Georgia Line and Jake Owen).
Taking a detour from bro country, Lane added a pop/R&B vibe to songs like his current radio hit "Fix" and showed off a sexy falsetto one doesn’t hear often in country music.
Backed by most of the same musicians that were with him last year when he opened for Jerrod Niemann at House of Blues, Chris Lane put on a high-energy show that felt more like a party than a concert. With a new record label behind him and a single moving up the charts, it won’t be long before Chris Lane is a household name.
