Jaime Cuadra, former chief financial officer of Oceanic Enterprises, was sentenced on November 4 to 41 months in custody for wire fraud and filing a false income tax return.

According to U.S. Attorney records, Cuadra embezzled $1,089,813 from Oceanic and its parent company, Umami Sustainable Seafood, to finance a fledgling football league, as well as for personal spending.

According to court records, Cuadra tried to cover the thefts by falsifying company financial records. He failed to report his embezzled income on three years of taxes.
