Really smoking
Matt Potter 6:30 a.m., May 22
I head out into the street, wondering how I’m gonna sell this to Carla. I sample what I’ve wrecked the budget on. Mmm…peanut crunch, good; the Coronado Crunch, dee-freaking-licious. The oh-so-cinnamony “apple pie” candied apple: that’s about to take the prize when I taste the maple walnut fudge.
And that’s that. It’s it. No contest whatsoever.
Why?
It’s the nearest thing to — sigh — my long-lost Swiss Cream Candy Bars.
And now here comes Carla.
“Sweetie!” she says. “How do I look? Ready for lunch? Say, what’s that you’re chewing?” ■
