Ben Wanicur Quartet live at Dizzy's
Robert Bush 6:31 p.m., May 18
And I did get one laugh from it. Or rather, one laugh before it. At a promotional screening last week (theater to remain nameless), the digital projector began straightaway to throw large blinking red patches all over the screen, necessitating a shutdown before we got through the studio logos. In short order, a pleasant young theater manager appeared at the front of the auditorium to tell us that she was sure we had noticed they had a little situation, and she wanted us to know that they were aware of it and were working on it and would have it fixed in just a couple of minutes. With perfect comic timing her walkie-talkie then crackled to life at a volume audible to all: “Sarah, do you remember what we did the last time this happened?” ■
