The Other Guys is a cop-partner comedy from Adam McKay, not to say cop-buddy, with Will Ferrell wobbly in tone as a contented desk jockey and Mark Wahlberg a steady straight man as a pent-up eager beaver. It evinces a deathly pale image, a fair amount of industry, and a few amusing ideas (a fight breaks out in whispers at a police funeral and carries on at a respectful volume), at least a skit’s worth.
At the UltraStar Mission Valley 7 for the following week, and then for another week in each of the following three months, the San Diego Latino Film Festival resumes its Cinema en Tu Idioma series, a couple of films at a time instead of the customary single. First up are two audience favorites from the festival last March, the Argentinian Música en Espera and the Mexican Regresa. ■
