Charley got offstage and a rap group called People of Earth performed. I looked around and noticed that even the older folks were bobbing their heads to the beat.
I asked Charlie about his music, and he told me how supportive his parents have been. He told me his CD Charley Hinchcliffe can be found on iTunes, Amazon, and Napster.
When I grabbed a second glass of champagne, Len told me another Elvis story. I asked if he ended up driving for anyone else after Elvis passed away, and he said, “Willie Nelson, Dolly Parton, Leon Russell, and that hard-rock band Uriah Heep.”
I asked if he had stories about any of those musicians, anticipating a Willie Nelson pot story. But he went into a story about Elvis always paying for everyone’s meals when they stopped in small towns.
Some security guards came in…I thought maybe the rap was too loud, but they grabbed some food and headed back out. Nothing like a free meal.
