Star Wars: The Clone Wars, or in the order the words appear on screen and in the ads, Star the Clone Wars Wars, fills in events on the timeline between parts two and three of the second cycle in George Lucas’s space saga. If, from this remove, that’s still of concern to anyone. Under the guiding hand of Dave Filoni, the full computer animation, as opposed to the extensive but partial computer animation in the aforesaid cycle, nudges the action ever farther into the universe of the video game. If, again, that’s of any concern. Best let the zealots fight it out.

Cinema en Tu Idioma, the year-round extension of the San Diego Latino Film Festival, resumes its monthly programs this Friday at the UltraStar Mission Valley in Hazard Center, with Claudio Dabed’s Ugly Me, starring the spectacularly un-ugly Barbara Mori. A later program, November’s, will bring back one of the better films I saw in last spring’s festival, El Violín. Even if it were not one of the better ones, the black-and-white photography would accord it the status of an endangered species.
