Place reeks of gentility. Your feet sink into deep pink carpets, chandeliers clank above you, you sit on gold-braided chairs at tables covered by flowery linen tablecloths, surrounded by specialty olive oils and expensive wines, giant potted palms and well-heeled little old ladies complaining about the bums on the street outside. But guess what? You can feed the old gal for five bucks with things like Hawaiian chicken salad or Greek salad. Best bet: homemade soup du jour with half-sandwich (and they're big), $4.75.
