Scott Marks 7 a.m., Sept. 18
A faith-based made-for-TV biopic that somehow found its way to the big screen. Teen-surfer Bethany Hamilton made headlines after a shark relieved her of an arm. AnnaSophia Robb looks the part, but the young actress doesn’t bring much in the way of urgency to the role of a traumatized teenager. The end result of this triumph of the human spirit amounts to little more than Beach Blanket Limb-Go, minus Frankie and Annette. Disney Channel refugee Sean McNamara (That’s So Raven) directed. With Helen Hunt and Dennis Quaid. 2011.
