A brief history of Liberace(s) on film
Scott Marks 4:26 p.m., May 21
French drama about an Israeli couple and a Palestinian couple who discover that their teenage sons were accidentally switched at birth. It’s not as dreadful as it sounds. The family melodrama and performances - particularly by Emmanuelle Devos and Areen Omari as the boys’ mothers — are quite effective. But when it comes to politics, this isn’t much better than The Parent Trap. Co-written (along with Nathalie Saugeon) and directed by Lorraine Levy. With Pascal Elbé, Jules Sitruk, and Mehdi Dehbi. 2012.
