Write Out Loud: Southern Sensibilities
4040 Twiggs Street, San Diego, 92110
Cost: $5 - $20
Write Out Loud was founded in 2007, "with a commitment to inspire, challenge, and entertain by reading short stories aloud for a live audience." For the second production of their 10th anniversary season, the company presents a "story concert reading" of stories from the American South. Authors include William Faulkner, Eudodra, Welty, Flannery O'Connor, Kate Chopin, Florence King, Dorothy Allison, and Joseph Mitchell. The cast, along with founders Walter Ritter and Veronica Murphy, includes Monique Gaffney, Linda Libby, and Rachael Van Wormer. Worth a try.
