St. Patrick’s Day Parade & Irish Festival
The parade steps off at 10:30 a.m. from Sixth Avenue and Juniper Street, travels north on Fifth Avenue to Upas, then south on Sixth to conclude at Juniper Street. With marching bands, floats, equestrian entries, bagpipe contingents, dancers, drill teams, roller skaters, clowns, antique cars, representatives from Ireland, and the reigning Miss Colleen and Smiling Irishman.
At the corner of Sixth and Quince, an Irish Festival offers live entertainment on two stages from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. plus food and craft booths, a Kids Zone with games, rides, llamas, and face painting, and a Celtic Village where a troupe of renaissance re-enactors portray the daily drama of the soldiers of House McFionn with authentic fighting demonstrations, dance, song, and storytelling.
