An Evening with Space Heroes
2001 Pan American Plaza, San Diego, 92101
Cost: $250
The San Diego Air & Space Museum is offering a rare opportunity to meet the men who walked on the moon and the remarkable people on the ground who helped make this extraordinary dream a reality. A star-studded group of astronauts and ground personnel from NASA’s Mercury, Gemini, and Apollo space programs will share in-depth and personal experiences.
Attendees include Buzz Aldrin (Apollo 11, the first lunar landing), Gene Cernan (Apollo 17, The Last Man on the Moon), Walt Cunningham (Apollo 7, the first manned Apollo flight), and Charlie Duke (Apollo 16, the youngest astronaut to walk on the moon). Proceeds from the evening benefit the museum’s youth-education programs.
