Doc Morris Public Lecture: Quantum Physics
5500 Campanile Drive, San Diego, 92182
Cost: Free
A grand challenge for quantum physics in the 21st Century is a deeper understanding of the complex correlations that arise among many strongly interacting quantum objects, be they electrons, atoms, or photons. Quantum correlation can lead to quantum entanglement, which has no counterpart in the realm of human experience but which can lead to physical systems different in kind than those that have heretofore existed in Nature.
In this talk, an overview of some startling advances in quantum physics over the past two decades, including for computation and communication. In the North Education Bldg., Room 60.
