“Orange Is the New Black: The Real Story with Piper Kerman, A Benefit for Second Chance" is a multimedia event designed to raise awareness of the failure of the current prison system and the solution provided by Second Chance to get people off the streets and into the workforce, becoming contributing members of society.
Piper Kerman, author of the memoir Orange Is the New Black: My Year in a Women’s Prison, will be the keynote speaker with all proceeds benefiting Second Chance. In addition to Kerman’s presentation, an original one-act play based on inspiring true stories of Second Chance clients and a live music performance by two guest artists.
