International Women's Day Breakfast
Over 30,000 women from around the globe gathered at the Fourth World Conference on Women in Beijing in 1995. They created a Platform for Action that has become the foundation for building an inclusive, peaceful, more just world.
This year, the 59th Commission on the Status of Women at the United Nations in New York will focus on where we have come since Beijing, and will illustrate how women worldwide are working for justice for all, in spite of great odds and ignorance. At the 12th annual celebration of International Women’s Day at the Joan B. Kroc Institute for Peace and Justice (IPJ), we renew the spirit of the Fourth World Conference on Women and are inspired by a passionate voice for a future of reconciliation, promise and possibility — Dydine Umunyana.
Proceeds from the breakfast will support the IPJ’s WorldLink program, which connects youth to global affairs.
