Genius Friday Nights: The Life and Art of Judith Scott
1439 El Prado, San Diego, 92101
Age Limit: 21+
Cost: Free - $10
This summer, kick off your Friday nights at the museum. Enjoy a different award-winning documentary film each week in addition to wine, beer, food, and extended hours in the galleries. Each week’s film will focus on a different self-taught artist, some featured in the museum’s current exhibition Self-Taught Genius from the American Folk Art Museum in New York City.
This week's film: Outsider: The Life and Art of Judith Scott. For more than a decade, Judith Scott has been deeply involved in making large, colorful body-like sculptures out of found objects and yarn. Her works are abstract, dense, multilayered, and ultimately, a mystery.
