Parade of Lights
1492 N. Harbor Drive, San Diego, 92101
The San Diego Bay Parade of Lights is held on two consecutive Sundays each year in December. The parade begins at Shelter Island, proceeds past Harbor Island, the Embarcadero, Seaport Village, and ends at the Ferry Landing in Coronado. The first boats should arrive at Coronado by 7 pm, with over 80 boats participating. Metered spots will be free, but the pay lots will be charging and public lots will fill quickly.
This year, the theme is children’s stories. The most popular vantage points for viewing are Seaport Village and the Embarcadero. There are viewing deals, from general admission to the piers and boats managed by the Maritime Museum to a Hornblower dinner cruise. The judging platform will be the Berkeley steam ferry.
