Based on true historical events first adapted into a novel in 2004, the film tells the story of Angela’s female-to-male transformation for love of her long-time friend Sara. The story is set on an island off the coast of Sicily in the 19th century, in an immutable and uncontaminated universe where as Prince Salina of The Leopard would say, “everything has to change for everything to stay the same.” The screening features special guest, actor and producer, Maria Grazia Cucinotta.
