The Ultimate Stones includes several members of Rolling the Stones, a Rolling Stones tribute band who won the 2009 Ultimate Music Challenge at Viejas Casino. “Every member of the band takes a keen interest in playing their part,” says bandleader Mick Adams (aka Mick Jagged). Vince Lupo (as Charlie Swatts) drums to the beat, Bernie Yantz (Bill Why-man) is a dead ringer for his bassist counterpart, and the band features up to a total of nine performers.

Says the band, “We present the very best in performance and stage production values: the great Jagger and Richards songs that we all know and love, done completely live, without any sweetener tracks or audio trickery.”

In 2013, the band appeared on a new cable show called the World’s Greatest Tribute Bands, on AXS TV. “Mark Cuban handpicked all the music for the television show, I found this out from Katie Daryl, the show’s host,” says Vince Lupo. Cuban, a billionaire, started AXS in 2012 with concert promoter/arena owner AEG, radio deejay Ryan Seacrest, and the Hollywood talent firm Creative Artists Agency.

A local booking agency that specializes in tribute acts called Music Zirconia brokered the deal that got the Ultimate Stones on the AXS TV producer’s radar.
