Background:

Sub Society was a late 1980s punk band. In 1990, they released a four-song seven inch record called Ice Man.

In the mid-to-late eighties, singer/guitarist Michael Steinman -- aka Stimy -- attended a private school on Mount Soledad called the La Jolla School, as well as UC High, where he formed Sub-Society at the age of 15. He also played with local bands Inch, Lakeside Orchestra, Brass Knuckles, and Congress of the Cow.

Bassist Pete Reichert later joined Rocket From the Crypt. Steinman, after a stint as a Live Wire bartender, passed away on December 3, 2010, at age 37.

Singer/guitarist Stimy passed away December 30, 2010. He was living in Colorado when he died.
