Native San Diegan Hector Luis Santos -- aka Santos -- first emerged in 2003 as a member of the El Salvadoran group Pescozada. After going solo, his first record Salva-vida was released in 2008.
Santos specializes a Mexican genre known as ruidosón, based around electronic techno music and samples, mixed with Latin swing, cumbia, norteño, and grupero, with topical lyrics dealing with contemporary religion and social concerns, particularly as they relate to inner cities.
