Background:

Ruby & the Red Hots are fronted by blues-belter Ruby Presnell, who has shared the stage with Etta James, Charles Brown, Junior Wells, Buddy Guy, and John Lee Hooker. In addition, she has performed with the San Diego Symphony, Elvin Bishop, Papa John Creach, Solomon Burke, Poncho Sanchez, Hollywood Fats, C.J. Chenier, and Elvin Bishop.

Trumpet player Derek Cannon is director of jazz studies at Grossmont College, and he also plays locally with the Steely Damned.
