Based in Encinitas and Santa Ysabel, the MoonDance Band plays 1960s through 1980s R&B, soul, blues, and classic rock. Band leader James G. Peña is Native American (Santa Ysabel band of Diegueño Indians).
The band has played around town at Pal Joey’s, Casino Pauma, Harrah’s Rincon Casino, Monterey Bay Canners, Pala Mesa Resort, Santa Ysabel Resort and Casino, and local classic car shows.
