Background:

San Diego native Mike Nelson studied classical guitar with Celin Romero, jazz with Bob Boss and Art Johnson, and holds a Bachelor of Music from SDSU. He specializes in solo fingerstyle guitar, and
performs an eclectic array of blues, jazz standards, ragtime, pop, and original music.

Nelson usually plays solo, sometimes accompanied by a Boss Loopstation. His fave guitars include his old Taylor 612-C, outfitted with the new Expression System, and a Kirk Sand Electric Nylon.

Since 2003, Nelson has been playing Friday and Saturday nights at the Lodge Torrey Pines Golfer's Grill.
