Background:
Little Deadman is fronted by Spencer Rabin (Jamuel Saxon, Charles Musket, Red Feathers), alongside guitarist Anthony Levas (Charles Musket, Red Feathers), bassist Tyson Wirtzfeld, and drummer Brian Dahl (Gray Ghosts).
Their reverb and echo-steeped sound is California proto-punk and more. Think Jesus and Mary Chain, Bob Dylan, and New Order, but all in one band. “It’s eclectic,” says Levas, “but we’re trying to tie it all together.”
Their digital EP Shooting Seagulls, recorded with Keith Milgaten (Jamuel Saxon), was released in May 2011 on Single Screen Records, a San Diego label owned by Jackson Milgaten from Cuckoo Chaos. The label also released a subsequent 7-inch by the band.
By the end of 2011, Spencer Rabin was maintaining a part-time San Diego residence while attending the San Francisco Art Institute and working towards a master’s degree.
