Based in North Park, singer/pianist Kevin Cavanaugh specializes in “Songs from Sinatra to the Smiths.” As of early 2012, he has several local residencies: Wednesday nights at the Caliph, Friday and Saturday nights at Tango on the Grand in Escondido, and Monday nights for “Morrissey Mondays” at the Riviera Supper Club.
Cavanaugh formerly wrote and directed variety dinner theatre shows in Kentwood, Michigan, such as Expect the Unexpected, which featured his song “Out To Lunch,” staged by him with two female vocalists and styled after Doris Day.
In June 2006, his band Blue Velvet appeared on the NBC TV show America’s Got Talent. His solo full-length Fly Me to the Moon was released in August 2011.
