Background:

Flutist Harvey Sollberger was a student of Otto Luening at Columbia University. A renowned soloist, conductor, and composer, as of 2010 he is emeritus professor of music at UCSD. He also taught at Columbia University, the Manhattan School of Music, and Indiana University, as well as serving as music director of the La Jolla Symphony and Chorus.
