Background:
The Golliards are an early music ensemble that has played around town at Lestat's, the La Jolla Athenaeum, and elsewhere. "Golliards" were 13th century medieval poets and musicians known for satirical and bawdy works.
The group frequently turns up at Renaissance and Medieval festivals, playing ancient folk music on traditional instruments, including pipes and a wire-strung Clarsach (aka Celtic Harp). They occasionally cover more contemporary folk songs, such as Maddie Prior's "Bedlam Boys."
