Background:
In 2006, Dave the Butcher was conceived on one alcohol-fueled night when three friends decided to get together and listen to Tom Waits records.
At one point in the evening, they decided to plug in their instruments and record. The result was the haunting and subversive “Light, Fire, Passion.” When they awoke the next afternoon, they listened to the recording and realized that Tom Waits and Jack Daniel's can bear some rather interesting fruit.
The three friends -- Jim Walters, Doug Graves, and Chuck Wagon -- realized they had made something special and decided to continue writing. As time went on, they decided to take their unique and edgy sound to the local club circuit and enlisted James Bell to complete the circle on drums.
In 2007, Joose Malt Beverage selected Dave the Butcher in a nationwide talent and sponsorship contest. In 2008, the band released their full-length CD debut.
