Inception: San Diego, 2010
Background:
Based in North Park, folk rockers the County Fair were founded in 2010 by Trev Wilson (guitar, vocals) and Peter Mehrhof (banjo, mandolin, vocals). “We both had a love and respect for traditional folk music,” says Wilson, “but didn’t want to duplicate the records we were listening to. We really just wanted to create music that even our grandparents would enjoy.”
Drummer Cameron Foley comes from the group Misc. Ailments. The band also includes Jared Montalvo (upright bass), Ian La Form (electric guitar), and Valerie Angevert Urbanowicz (violin).
They self-released their full-length Family Tree in October 2011, landing at #21 on the ReverbNation local folk charts.
