Synoposis

Inception: Encinitas, 1983

Background:

The Coastal Communities Concert Band was co-founded in the early 1980s by flutist Jan Turnage and North Coast Symphony clarinet player Judy Thum, growing from 14 volunteer members to over 70 players.

The group has toured Europe, Italy, Switzerland, and Hawaii, earning honors from the John Philip Sousa Foundation and frequently performing benefits for San Diego schools, causes, and charitable organizations such as the San Diego Center for the Blind and Meals on Wheels.
