Background:
Buddy Akai is a four-piece electronic rock band formed in 2005. The members are from San Diego, Mexico, and Spain, and none of them are named Buddy Akai; they’re named after the Akai brand keyboard they use.
According to their MySpace page, “Their sound can be described as a mix of indie/electro/rock. They mix in samples, sequences, arpegiated synths and processed vocals, but still they manage to keep it rocking.”
Though the group appeared to disband for awhile, they reunited for some late 2009 performances.
