Copley Press Trying to Sell 22 Acres Adjoining Fox Hill
Re: 1)The parcel in Del Mar was originally purchased ( maybe still owned by) One of the Jacobs Sons....He wanted to build a real Little league park on it, along with a large home for himself and his family. Del Mar had such a hissy fit, or maybe it was Solana Beach (?) That after years of BS he walked, and the parcel will be sold. Re: 3) This is happening all over the Newspaper industry. I am surious to see if it hits the NYT Family. ( Salzburgers )I know the collapse of the Newspaper industry have left members of the Hoiles clan virtually wiped out.— October 20, 2009 11:45 a.m.

New U-T Owners Borrowing against Real Estate
They are shopping the printing of the paper around to other papers...leaving me to wonder if they are going to move out of the building in Fashion Valley.— July 26, 2009 8:46 p.m.
Newspapers Should Go Totally Online, Says Writer for Business Week Magazine
Maybe papers will contract with someone like The Wall Street Journal, USA today, NYTimes to utilize their presses so a west coast edition can still be printed? Anything to generate income I would think. I am not so sure any of the papers here in so. Cal would go to a one day a week product, unless the co. in question was in dire straits(thinking LA times) or in a two paper market, as we have seen. That said, I don't see the LA times folding into a one day a week print version in the coming any time in the near future.— March 16, 2009 8:40 p.m.

Next Will Come No-Newspaper Markets, Says New York Times Story
Response to #25. The decline in readers and ad sales have gone down, but had newspapers not bulked up their debt for either: Acquisitons, or paying off family members (GRRRR) some of the chains that are in risk of BK wouldn't be. *trust me*— March 15, 2009 7:51 p.m.
Newspapers Should Go Totally Online, Says Writer for Business Week Magazine
In Southern Ca. it is easy to imagine a paper free world (gasp!) However in places where public transportation is still readily used, grabbing the paper to read n the train/subway/bus etc is still popular. (Especially among those who travel without their laptop) I do not see print going away entirely, and I HOPE this doesn't happen in my lifetime, but I can forsee a time when papers print a paper edition 1 or 3 times aweek to help costs.— March 15, 2009 7:48 p.m.
Next Will Come No-Newspaper Markets, Says New York Times Story
Newspapers are still making money. A lot of money actually. However it is their debt loads that are killing them. Many papers on the verge of BK are there, not because they are unable to make debt payments, but because their covenants have been breached, and with this lending market, getting a wavier is prooving to be difficult.— March 13, 2009 4:18 p.m.
Escorts & Engagements
What is disturbing is the sheer amount of young women in PB who will "escort" for some extra cash or essentially whore themselves on Craigslist. What ever happend to being hot, not getting sexual pictures taken and posted online, and marrying a rich guy?— March 4, 2009 9:52 p.m.
