Hi Susan,

Castaneda got 29.66% of the vote for Mayor, so yes, if he is still talking about it, he is bitter. Sorry for the confusion, I assumed, that since you wrote about Castaneda's experience running for Mayor, you also new the results from the election. I don't understand the math that you quoted him saying, but that may just be me. — July 20, 2012 9:41 p.m.

Chula Vista City Council To Consider Meeting Time Change
@cvres: I've always wondered what justification there was to close the civic center buildings on Fridays. Doesn't make sense, especially because people are in there working. It's not a furlough day, like SUHSD teachers have right now.— September 24, 2012 7:23 p.m.

Dust Devil Settles in Southwest High’s Dumped-Dirt Debacle
How does a school get rid of contaminated soil? How long does it take to get rid of contaminated soil? Have they really done their due diligence? A simple google search will find multiple companies that will do it. This seems more like a money factor than anything else.— July 29, 2012 9:42 p.m.

Public Input Stifled at Sweetwater's Board Meeting
The best thing the board could do is at least appear to be willing to accept public criticism. When they limit the customary three minutes per person for public comment, it ferments further dissent and distrust. They are public servants, take the time to hear what the public has to say.— July 26, 2012 10:11 p.m.
Chula Vista Goes for District Elections--Almost
Thank you for the continued clarification on matters. The general election from November 2010 looks like about 54,000 people voted, hardly the double you and Castaneda presumed there would be (see page 7 0f 19): http://www.sdcounty.ca.gov/voters/Eng/archive/201… So in essence, by your numbers, 54% of the electorate voted. Then again I'm not really a math person. Nevertheless, I'm sure we can all split hairs over the numbers, but I think Castaneda's point is on a very slippery slope.— July 22, 2012 6:22 p.m.
